Perhaps you have an existing piece of furniture needing recovered or re-upholstered, or maybe you’d like something new? Whatever the project, our traditionally trained upholsterers can make, recover, repair or replicate to your exact requirements. We can even source a piece for you and have it recovered or reupholstered to your taste. We can also make any item of furniture to any design, be it a shape you have seen and like or something totally unique. You can supply your own fabric for our upholstery service or choose from our extensive library in our North Kensington showroom.

Chelsea Townhouse

A small Georgian townhouse but a sizeable interiors project.

Conceptualised, created and installed before actually meeting the client face-to-face, this was a project managed and approved via email and Skype. Our client was based in New York and the only definite direction we had from her was to stay ‘traditional’. The rest was up to us. With such latitude and creative generosity, it’s easy to indulge your own individual taste, but we roamed within reason and nailed her brief with every suggestion. The result is a comfortable, exquisitely detailed bolt hole in one of London’s most desirable locations. Our work was essentially an entire fit-out that included designing and installing joinery, new lighting, furniture, rugs, and soft furnishings. We also explored a variety of window treatments and a range of different paint effects including trompe l’oeil, faux marble and textured lacquering. We commissioned bespoke furniture, replaced the bathrooms and after the work was completed, accompanied the owner to select complementary works of art. In person, not online, you’ll be relieved to hear.

West London Apartment

A Victorian terraced apartment transformed from a run-down space into a luxurious, spacious home.

This was a true interior transformation, representative of Violet & George’s creative approach to reimagining spaces and our careful attention to detail. When we started this project the interior was tatty and outdated, with a bathroom covered in mildew and a kitchen accessed down steep steps through an archway that had fallen into disrepair. To create more space, the living area was relocated from the front of the property to the back, looking out onto the large south-facing garden. Two equal sized bedrooms were created, while an extension accommodated a new modern kitchen – a space delightfully juxtaposed with the beautiful Victorian features of the original property. A break in the terrace meant we could isolate the entrance from the communal hallway, giving the apartment a sense of exclusivity. A fusion of vintage and modern interior touches give the property a sense of innovative and eclectic indulgence. From eye-catching wallpaper and art deco lighting to creatively revamped furniture, sumptuous hand-finished curtains and a u-shaped sofa custom built to fit the space we delivered an engaging, creative space in which to live, entertain live and enjoy.
